BiblioApps FAQ
How will the new version be different from the old one?
The GSPL app has been rebuilt from the ground up for you to discover new titles, plan your next visit, and browse recommendations curated by staff. It includes a clean modern design, a new search screen, lists created by staff, relevant links and opening hours of all library locations.
How do I download the new version of the app?
The new app will be accessible in the form of an app update if you have the old one installed already. Otherwise, you will be able to download it from Google or Apple app store.Does BiblioApps for iOS work on an iPad?
BiblioApps for iOS was built specifically for iPhone devices.BiblioCommons does not actively support the app for iPad at the moment. This may change in the future as BiblioCommons regularly monitors device usage.
You can still use the app on an iPad through the iPad's compatibility mode. Compatibility mode mimics the iPhone app experience on the iPad by stretching the screen to 1x or 2x the size of the iPhone screen.
Running the app through compatibility mode means you might experience some issues that we are not able to actively support, which include layout, scanner, and other related issues.
Will the library offer both the legacy BiblioMobile app and BiblioApps for iOS and Android?
BiblioMobile legacy app for iOS and Android will no longer be supported or maintained by BiblioCommons once GSPL migrates to BiblioApps for iOS and Android. If you do not want to update to 2.0, you can choose not to accept the update as long as you don't have your device settings set to automatically update apps. If that is the case, you can choose to reject the BiblioApps 2.0 update and can continue to use BiblioApps 1.0 on your device. However, you will only be able to use BiblioApps 1.0 temporarily. Since BiblioCommons is not actively supporting BiblioApps 1.0 it will eventually cease to function.
