Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan allows a patron to borrow materials we do not already have in our local collection. We collaborate with libraries throughout Ontario to share our collections so that we can get you what you’re looking for.
Materials are subject to the availability and lending policies of other libraries. Most of these items are free to borrow, however, some may have a service charge that must be paid before we can borrow them from the lending library.
Who can borrow?
Anyone can use our Interlibrary Loan service as long as they have a valid Library card.
How do I make a request?
Option 1: Self Service
Create a self-serve account and place your own requests. This option allows you to create and track your own requests in real-time. You can manage your titles, request renewals and cancel requests as long as they are not already on their way to Sudbury. You can also choose to receive automated email notifications and reminders about your active requests.

Option 2: Place your request through Interlibrary Loan staff
Submit your requests using the Interlibrary Loan Request form and our staff will do the work for you. This option means that we will search for titles on your behalf. Please note that requests are processed in the order we receive them so this option can take longer to process. Due to the volume of requests, you will only be directly notified when an item is ready for you to pick up or if it cannot be found for you.
