First Nations Public Library week
GSPL Celebrates First Nations Public Library Week October 2 to 6
Greater Sudbury Public Library is celebrating First Nations Public Library Week from October 2 to 6. GSPL patrons can take part by reading books by Indigenous authors and checking out the online activities offered by the Ontario Library Service.
The theme for 2023, SKAÍHWA’T | DGOGAABWI | STANDING TOGETHER, reminds on-reserve and municipal public libraries that alliances and friendships exist and that reciprocal partnerships strengthen the public library sector.
The Ontario Library Service has created online programming to celebrate First Nations Public Library Week, available at https://resources.olservice.ca/fnplw/2023. OLS has also created printable activity pages to complement this year’s theme.
The week includes the presentation of the First Nation Communities READ awards. We invite you to check out these and other items by Indigenous authors, on our website or in displays at our branches.
