Friends of the Library
About us:
The Friends of the Greater Sudbury Public Library has been in existence for over 30 years. The Friends are a support, advocacy and fundraising charitable organization. They are a dedicated group of volunteers who help contribute to the library system.
The fundraising activities this year include
Art in the Community
Various local artists donate pieces of art that are auctioned to raise funds for the different branches’ Children Areas.
So far, Azilda, Chelmsford, Levack-Onaping, Mackenzie and Dowling branches have participated in the Silent Auction. Thanks to the generosity of our artists, Helen and Steven Townend, Gigi Dequanne, Angelina Chevrier, Carmen Martorella and Olivia Landriault.
Bookmark Contest
Many local merchants and businesses were happy to donate gift cards as awards to the winners of the Bookmark Contest held by the Library.
A huge thank you to Beards, Kuppajo, Kupp, Urban Air, LVX (Jungle Gym), Inspired Tots, and Not Only Ice Cream for their generous donations.
Jolly Baskets Silent Auction
Local merchants and businesses came to the rescue once again to help the Friends raise some funds through the Jolly Baskets Silent Auction.
Thank you to Lougheed Flowers, Sudbury Paint and Custom Framing, A & J Home Hardware, J & M Indian Cuisine, Twiggs, and Nickel Refillery.
The Silent Auction will be held in the South End, Copper Cliff and New Sudbury branches in December.
