Climate Justice Corner
Are you curious about climate change? Want to learn more but don’t know where to start? Or are you ready to dig into the deeper issues connected to the climate, like Truth and Reconciliation, food sovereignty and social justice (to name just a few)? Whether you’re new to the topic of climate change or ready for more in-depth analysis, the Climate Justice Corner has something for you.
Greater Sudbury Public Library has partnered with Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury to create the Climate Justice Corner, a special collection that brings together themes relating to the environment, human rights, and land rights. The collection is located at the Main Library and online on the library’s website.
In the Climate Justice Corner, you’ll find board games, magazines, videos, pamphlets, and, of course, books of all kinds including cookbooks, renovation guides, fiction and non-fiction, and books for both adults and kids. Whether you want practical steps to reduce your carbon footprint, analysis of related issues, or information about what’s happening in our community, the Climate Justice Corner has what you need.
Join the launch party on Earth Day, April 22, 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Main Library (74 Mackenzie St.). We’ll have music, art, readings from the collection, and craft activities indoors and out. The event is co-hosted with Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury. If you can't attend in-person, Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury will be streaming the event live on their Facebook page.
